The FS20X Plus (UV/3IR) builds upon Honeywell’s FSX series flame detectors with WideBand IR infrared technology with the addition of ultraviolet (UV). This offers a flexible solution which can quickly and reliably detect Hydrocarbon, non-Hydrocarbon, and Hydrogen fires — with increased range of detection — even in the presence of environmental inhibitors like rain, fog, and smoke.
Diversity of Detection
Able to see a variety of Hydrocarbon, non-Hydrocarbon, and Hydrogen fires in a single device. No need to specify or stock a specialty flame detector.
Operation in Harsh Conditions
The Honeywell FS20X Plus can operate effectively in temperatures from-55º C to +75º C (-67º F to +167º F) and 99 % relative humidity.SIL2 certification from TÜV.
Accessories Included
Sunshade (new design) and mounting bracket included. Choose from the standard or marine version bracket. The FS20X Plus can be installed on a variety of surfaces. Quickly and easily position the detector in optimal locations.
Extended Distance
Long-range, wide-angle sensors detect fires for a 1 ft2 (0.1 m2) n-Heptane fire at260 ft (79 m) in typically 5 seconds or 90 ft (27 m) for a similar size hydrogen fire.
Decreased Nuisance Alarms
With the addition of the UV sensor to the existing 3IR, the FS20X Plus maintains sensitivity to flaming fires at extended ranges while having the ability to circumvent common sources of noise.
All-in-One Device
Communication options such as Modbus, HART® 7, Relays, and mA (source, sink, and isolated) are included as standard. Multiple, global certifications are listed on each device. No need for complex ordering codes.WIDE RANGEOFUSE ANDFLEXIBILITY
Unlike traditional UV+IR flame detections, Honeywell’s UV+3IR with high-speed sensors and WideBand IR technology, the FS20X Plus can see Hydrocarbon, non-Hydrocarbon, and Hydrogen fires in challenging weather conditions.
DETECTING FLAMES, FROM A RANGE OF SOURCES
Honeywell FS20X Plus has one ultraviolet and three infrared sensor bands that monitor key wavelengths. Triple IR and especially the WideBand IR can see flames that become almost invisible to single or narrow band detectors during poor conditions, the UV protects against nuisance alarms and broadens the types of flaming fires detectable.
• Ultraviolet from 0.18 μm to 0.26 μm
• Near-band IR from 0.7 μm to 1.1 μm
• Wide-band IR from 0.7 μm to 4.2 μm
• Long-band IR from 3.0 μm to 5.0 μm
Without the need to rely on CO2 spikes like narrow band detectors to detect emerging flames, Honeywell FS20X Plus can monitor the bands that are most likely to see a fire.
ENGINEERED FOR RELIABLE FLAME DETECTION
Honeywell FS20X Plus has dual microprocessors to ensure robust, reliable flame detection. The first manages high-speed digital sampling and signal-processing. The second handles sensor data, communications and self-diagnostics — plus added memory for event logs.
Since it can readily detect Hydrocarbon, non-Hydrocarbon, and Hydrogen flames — even in challenging conditions — Honeywell FS20X Plus can be a flame detector for multiple applications in a single, including but not limited to:
