High-Precision Noise Monitoring for Industrial Environments
The SoundEar 4 XL is a ruggedised, high-precision noise monitoring system designed for the most demanding industrial settings. Built with a high-strength aluminium core and protected by a shock-absorbing rubber bumper, it offers unparalleled durability. Featuring integrated Wi-Fi, Cloud connectivity, and Modbus, the XL model provides real-time noise data and dosimetry to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Features
Industrial-Grade Build: Rugged aluminium cabinet with a high-impact rubber bumper.
Integrated Dosimeter: Automated tracking of cumulative noise exposure (dose) per shift.
Advanced Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Modbus, and Cloud.
Dual USB Access: USB-C: For power supply (5VDC, 2A) and PC configuration. USBA: For manual export of log files, or connection of a supported Ethernet (LAN) adapter or USB modem.
The SoundEar4 XLprovides the same core monitoring concept as the SoundEar4-410, but in a much larger, highly visible format for industrial areas where noise information needs to be seen from further away. The XL is built around a high-strength aluminium core with a protective shock-absorbing rubber bumper, making it suitable for demanding fixed industrial installations.

Make changing noise levels visible immediately.
The visual display translates measured sound levels into clear green, yellow and red feedback based on the selected thresholds. Employees do not need to read a sound-level report to understand that conditions have changed.
Measure continuously in the area that matters.
SoundEar4 is designed for continuous fixed-location monitoring in production areas, workshops and other industrial zones. Measurement data is stored automatically, creating a consistent record of changing sound conditions over time.
Use historical data to understand patterns and changes.
Review recorded data to identify recurring high-noise periods, compare operating conditions and document whether noise-management measures have changed the acoustic environment.
Connect noise data to your existing setup.
Integrated Wi-Fi and Modbus TCP support connected industrial workflows. Local and standalone options remain available when Cloud access is not required.
Adapt thresholds and display behaviour to the workplace.
SoundEar4 supports configurable alarm thresholds and display settings, including scheduled day and night settings where different operating conditions require different visual limits or brightness.
Use SoundEar4 your way.
The monitoring hardware is not dependent on one data workflow. Choose the setup that fits the customer’s IT requirements and the purpose of the installation.
Standalone
Operate the device locally with internal logging and direct data access. This is suitable when the customer wants continuous monitoring without relying on Cloud access.
Connected locally
Use Modbus TCP to integrate SoundEar4 measurement data into supported local network or monitoring environments.
SoundEar Cloud
Add remote overview, historical data, alerts, reporting and online device management across one or many measuring points. Cloud access is optional. The SoundEar4 hardware can still be used in standalone or local workflows.
