ABB Furse ESP 415M2 Surge Protective Device

SKU
7TCA085460R0119

The ABB Furse ESP 415 M2 is a combined type one, two and three surge arrester housed in steel, used in demanding applications such as airports, hospitals, large businesses or residential premises such as high rise buildings. Suitable for installation at zone LPZ 0 for flashover protection through to boundary LPZ 3 where surge currents are more limited by shared interfaces, protecting valuable equipment like computers or machinery. Typically installed at distribution board location, protecting the circuit from transients or combating over-voltage in electrical switching applications.

A three-phase protector in compliance with IEC 61643-11, with low let-through voltage between all sets of conductors (phase to neutral, phase to earth and neutral to earth). Full mode protection handles partial lightning currents while electronic equipment operates uninterrupted as surges are diverted away to earth.

ESP 415M2 has multiple thermal disconnect technology that allows removal from defective supplies without detriment. An active voltage-free contact warns of phase loss from blown fuses, power down, faulty wiring, earthing issues, or unbalanced conditions. Warnings of status can be linked to a building management system, alarm or light.

At the front of the unit, lights indicate the status of each phase and neutral. Green indicates normal functioning; red denotes attention or replacement.

Key Features

  • Very low let-through voltage (enhanced protection to BS EN 62305) between all sets of conductors (phase to neutral, phase to earth and neutral to earth – Full Mode protection)
  • Full mode design capable of handling high energy partial lightning currents as well as allowing continual operation of protected equipment
  • Innovative multiple thermal disconnect technology, for safe disconnection from faulty or abnormal supplies (without compromising protective performance)
  • Three way visual indication of protection status
  • Advanced pre-failure warning so you need never be unprotected
  • Remote indication facility allows pre-failure warning to be linked to a building management system, buzzer or light
  • Changeover active volt-free contact enables the protector to be used to warn of phase loss (i.e. power failure, blown fuses, etc)
  • Unique flashing warning of potentially fatal neutral to earth supply faults (caused by incorrect earthing, wiring errors or unbalanced conditions)
  • Robust steel housing
  • Protector base provides ultra low inductance earth bond to metal panels
  • Convenient holes for flat mounting
